Appointment Ceremony for Sponsorship Committee of the Spinal Cord Integrated Rehabilitation Center
Sharing and Happiness Medical Foundation (a medical corporation) and the non-profit organization Happy Together Through Sharing (hereinafter referred to as “NaHaengDong”) held an “Appointment Ceremony for the Sponsorship Committee for the Establishment of the Spinal Cord Integrated Rehabilitation Center” on the 19th at Haeundae Sharing and Happiness Hospital.
The “Spinal Cord Integrated Rehabilitation Center” is Korea’s first transitional, integrated rehabilitation model designed to address the disconnect experienced by people with spinal cord injuries as they move from hospital care back into the community. The project is planned with a total budget of KRW 50 billion, of which KRW 30 billion will be raised through public donations, supported by the government in a matching fund scheme.
The event was organized to share the vision of establishing a “Korean-style spinal cord center” that integrates treatment, rehabilitation, and social reintegration for spinal cord injury patients, and to officially launch a sponsorship committee to support this initiative. The formation of this committee is particularly meaningful as it represents the culmination of long-standing relationships between the foundation and its supporters.
Park Chang-sik, CEO of YG TOMS, who serves as the chairman of the sponsorship committee, has maintained a decade-long relationship with the foundation since participating in a residential environment improvement project for families of spinal cord injury patients in 2016. Song Hae-hwa, CEO of Ocean Entec, who established ties with the foundation in 2022 as the chairman of the Busan Disabled Rugby Association’s sponsorship committee, has been appointed as Senior Vice Chairman. Park Eun-sil, Executive Director of ShinYoung Securities, who contributed to the preparation of a transitional home and a rehabilitation exercise center for people with disabilities in 2023, has been appointed as Vice Chairman.
With the participation of these key members, the foundation and NaHaengDong have secured strong momentum for advancing the establishment of the Spinal Cord Integrated Rehabilitation Center.
