Let's open an era of regional centres, and cheer for local enterprises in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam!

Women's Generation (2) - Work and Love, both a successful and enjoyable life

“Offer sang” Memories

It was a long time ago, but there were many companies in Bukchang-dong and Mugyo-dong, Seoul, which were called "offer sang"("offer sang" is a combination of "offer" in English and "sang" in Korean, meaning trader) under the sign "00 Trade." Busan was probably around Jungang-dong ((??)). A couple of desks, telephones, and fax machines were the main equipment in an office of three or four pyeong (One pyeong is about 3.3058 square meters), and the combat uniform was a suit in a tie.

After graduating from college, they were not suitable for employment or even united as seniors and juniors, but they were export powerhouses during the modernization period. The role model would have been Kim Woo-joong, chairman of Daewoo Group, who said, "The world is wide and there are many things to do."

The world can't be easy, can it?

Even if you walk the soles of your shoes to the point where you can't pick them up, and return disappointed, they could drink a few glasses of 'somaek' from the street table of a nearby pub. If you sold anything, you'd get drunk on chicken or pork belly with hope.

What kind of existence is that? Then it was called life and romance, even self consolation. Some of them had been transferred; some had changed ties and wandered around all day, switched from monthly rent to lease, bought a small apartment, and even had two or three children study at college.

There are still people who go to work every morning because they haven't reached retirement age. But these days the signboards are invisible. Isn't it strange?

The building of the Korea International Trade Association in Gangnam, Seoul is also quite decent . This is why I had a trading company in mind when I started the series.

There was someone who unexpectedly tipped off Song Hae-hwa, a female trader. I thought of a topic that should have been learned earlier, "Women's Generation," but I was sad that I would end up in an Ad Balloon because I couldn't find a way. So I was asking about this.

Wise work and life

Ocean Entec Co., Ltd., is a trading company. To be exact, a Certified Trading Company.

I realized at last. These days, specialties are included in the name, not "00 trade." In the case of offices, they find an environment suitable to their

circumstances. The company is in a decent building in an area named Centum and the office is pleasant.

She probably had a 'good day' dream rather than a plan. She knew there was no rush, and that a 'good day' wouldn't come right away. Therefore, she was only sincere in the reality of face-to-face. Since it's a world where "effort" is sometimes used sarcastically, I think it's right to say that she didn't just continue without thinking. Hae-hwa studied Chinese at the Chinese Language and Literature Department of the Korea National Open University, looking ahead to the Chinese market just as she'd flown to London to speak better English in the past. She also systematically studied more in Japan at Pukyong National University's Graduate School of International Studies. When she became associated with Spain, she transferred to the Spanish department of the Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, where she studied and graduated. It was not a collection of degrees for signboards, but an increase in armament to better cope with reality. Even these days, she still makes time to keep her English up to speed by free talking with her foreign friends.

When establishing her company, she first occupied officetels near Busan City Hall. The calculation was that she would not have to spend on monthly rent even if that meant she had to pay off a bank loan instead. She has been 'walking' for more than 20 years without rushing to prevent 'leakage'. It is not polite to look into other people's pockets, but if we assume that the "Top of Three Million U.S. dollars in exports" award won in 2019, it would be around 4 billion won in sales.

She prepared not only for her retirement but also for her life without losing her dignity. Last year's Coronavirus pandemic reduced her sales by about 20 percent, which is upsetting, but since there are only a few employees, it just can be seen as a drop in profits. The continuation of the deal would be management of relationships with people....

Hae-hwa is bright. She quickly gets energized and cheerful with a contagious brightness. Is it nature or talent? For her, work is not for money. It doesn't seem to collapse due to stress, as it is a life where work and life are enjoyed together. Golf is also enjoyed as a favourite sport, not as a business relationship. She has also ran several 10-kilometre marathon events during her career.

The company ordered me to go out, but it was fun. I saw a music practice room at the company. She likes music, but because of Corona, she has time to spare and is practising with her acquaintances. Her instrument is the violin. The drama 'Wise Doctor Life' comes to mind.

When I first visited late one afternoon, I was refused the interview and asked if I would like a glass of wine. I thought, 'Huh, in the office in broad daylight?' but there's no reason to refuse. I also tilted a glass of soju a couple of times to open her mind. She had no hesitation. I wondered if she was a drinker, but because she had discipline that didn't cross her line, alcohol was a stage for her relationship with people.

Indeed, the happiest "SulSi (drink time)" is the time to raise a glass with her husband, so Hae-hwa has succeeded in both work and love.

(In the old notation of time, the 'SulSi' is from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In Korean, "Sul" is the same pronunciation as "alcohol". It is a play on words)
